Common Questions
What you may want to know

Practical clarity, without the fine-print feeling.

Open any question to read more. If your question is not answered here, a complimentary consultation is a good place to ask it.

Getting started01
What happens during the free consultation?

The complimentary 20-minute consultation is a brief conversation by Zoom or phone. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, what you hope might change, and whether my approach, availability, and the virtual format feel like a good fit.

You do not need to prepare a detailed history or have the perfect words.

Who do you work with?

I provide individual therapy for adults age 25 and older in Colorado and Wyoming. My work often resonates with thoughtful, high-functioning adults navigating anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, self-worth, relationship patterns, identity, and life transitions.

How do I know whether the fit is right?

Fit includes feeling respected, understood, and able to be honest. The consultation gives both of us a chance to ask questions and consider whether the relationship and approach make sense for what you need. You are never obligated to schedule after the consultation.

Sessions & payment02
How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 55 minutes. Therapy is typically weekly, with flexibility based on your needs, goals, and the stage of our work.

What is the session fee?

The fee is $165 for a 55-minute individual therapy session. Payment is due at the time of service, and a card is stored securely in SimplePractice, the client portal and electronic health record used by Elevate & Empower.

Do you accept insurance or provide superbills?

Elevate & Empower is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance or provide superbills for reimbursement.

Do you offer sliding-scale spaces?

Sliding-scale spaces are not currently available.

Format & approach03
Are sessions virtual?

Yes. All appointments are held through a secure virtual platform for clients in Colorado and Wyoming. Virtual care offers privacy and flexibility while allowing us to do focused, relational work.

What is your therapeutic approach?

My work is depth-oriented, experiential, attachment-based, and emotion-focused. I integrate Internal Family Systems, AEDP, and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. You do not need to know the terminology. Experiential therapy means we do more than talk about patterns from a distance—we gently notice thoughts, emotions, body responses, and relationship patterns as they arise in the session, creating opportunities to experience something new in real time.

Is therapy only about talking and gaining insight?

Insight is valuable, but our work also pays attention to what you experience emotionally in the present moment. The goal is not simply to understand a pattern—it is to create new capacity, greater self-trust, and more choice in how you live and relate.

Contact & additional questions04
What should I include in my first message?

Please share your name, the state where you are located, and a few general words about what you are seeking. Avoid sending detailed or sensitive health information by standard email or voicemail.

Do you offer clinical supervision?

Individual clinical supervision may be available on a limited and selective basis for LPCCs practicing in Colorado. Supervision is a secondary offering and requires a separate inquiry.

A note on policies

Clarity first. Specifics before you begin.

Scheduling expectations, informed consent, privacy practices, and other practice policies are reviewed before your first session so you can make an informed decision.

If a policy is especially important to you, please ask during the consultation rather than assuming. I am glad to discuss it directly.

Still wondering?

Your question is welcome. So is your uncertainty.

A complimentary 20-minute consultation is a private, low-pressure place to ask what you need to know.
